10 Epic construction fails that will make you want to slap the contractors who did them

1. Of all the shapes to choose from, it had to be this one. Lets give them the benefit of doubt. Perhaps the railing was constructed on a cloudy day and the contractor was in a rush.

2.  I can’t imagine any scenario in which space is at this much of a premium. How do you even fit under there? and please dont tell me its still same place you wash your hands when you are done
where the f*** is this architect

3.  I can only imagine that the contractor who built this house found a way to go around a petition for the playground to remain in place. or he never planed on letting anyone play with this

4.  This staircase makes me wonder whether they built it from the top. If you are going to start something, you might as well finish it. Especially if its the way to the top or bottom.

5.  When the foreman is too drunk to inspect the building. Seriously, how do you forget to add a door for the balcony?

6.  Clearly didn’t want to anger the gods by disrupting nature.

7.  I am no engineer but i believe a wheelchair would require a lot of momentum to go up these stairs. Nonetheless, points for effort

8.  I would expect an archer to miss the target but this is not even close to a situation that allows one to miss the target

9.  Well, this is weird. How thoughtful to put a window there. I wonder if the light can go through the bricks of that chimney

10.  Perhaps this door belongs to a time when everyone carries a jet pack.

Crucifix appears in Nasarawa mosque

Crucifix appears in Nasarawa mosque; hundreds troop out for miracle

– The sight of of a cross in a mosque premise sent Nasarawa residents into confusion

– Hundreds of people have trooped to the cross to ask for miracle

– The chief imam of the mosque confirmed the sighting and said it was a sign from God

In what might be considered a strange sighting, the sudden appearance of a cross a few meters away from a mosque in Nasarawa threw residents into confusion.
The Punch reports that residents of Assakio Development Area in Lafia were left awed by the strange sighting which has brought hundreds of people to the location to pray for forgiveness and blessing.

The cross which is the considered the symbol of Christianity was illuminated on the ground close to the mosque.
Hajara Hussaini confirmed that she was the first to see the light in the shape of a cross on Wednesday, September 28 when her mother sent her on errand.
Her mother, Matan Liman also confirmed the strange appearance and said her daughter was gripped in fear when she returned.
Muhammed Iliyasu who is the Chief Imam of Assakio Central Mosque said the sighting of the cross within the mosque premise confirmed that revelation was from God, affirming that “Jesus is also a prophet of God.”

Very Rev. Micheal Dogo of the Evangelical Reform Church of Christ, Assakio described the sighting of the cross as “a sign of reconciliation in the community.”
Grace Eze who resides in the community said she was healed when she visited the mosque.

“I underwent a surgery about two years ago after which I started to experience a movement in my body. But after praying before the cross, I got healed.”

This development comes as Muslims celebrate the new 1438AH year.
Similarly, hundreds of people trooped to Saint Augustine’s Catholic Church which is located in the Nenger area of Makurdi in Benue following the “appearance” of an ‘image’ of Jesus.
The church which is situated behind Government Model College became a hub for Catholic and non-Catholic worshipers after bright image fell on the crucifix of Jesus.

Girl narrates why she allegedly uses menstrual blood to cook for her boyfriend

Girl who wants to marry her married ex-boyfriend narrates her story.

According to a post sent in by a ‘confused girl’, she was sexually involved with a married man who took care of her in all the ways she wanted. She eventually fell in love with him without planning into, they broke up, reconciled later, and now she’s hoping to end up being his wife.
According to the story she sent in to a group known as ‘Relationship Matters In 9ja’, prior to sticking to only married men, she had dated a single guy whom she gave her all to till he eventually broke her heart.

According to her, after a serious fight with the guy one day when she discovered he had cheated on her, she cooked and served him food made with her menstrual blood (disgusting by the way), as a way to get her sweet revenge. She eventually left the guy and faced married men squarely.
See what she shared below:

“Hello Rmi9, i’m posting through a friend’s account.. I am 23 years old, a fresh graduate and i’m into entertainment. I model and dance.. All my life i have only dated young married men, just the 3 of them by the way.. They take care of me and i do the same.  They were all responsible because they always took proper care of their wives…I broke up with my last guy because i started developing serious feelings for him and i didn’t want to break his home and he was always all over me. I never had time for single guys but later i started reconsidering it because i hoped to get married someday and i started dating this single guy..

He is comfortable and always brought out money when necessary. I wasn’t so demanding because my dancing and modeling was paying.. I thought this idiot was the one for me until he cheated on me with a girl he claimed was from his hometown.. He even had the effrontery to bring the girl home and slept with her on our bed… I was mad that night, i made sure i broke his laptop and wanted to tear down his flat screen on the wall before he held me…

I was hurt and fortunately for me, my menses started the next morning because he stupidly thought i was ok after he begged me that night, so i used it to cook for him because i heard it makes guys purge and he purged that morning… He could have died for all i cared, the heartbreak was too painful.. I made sure i ate his money well before i dumped his sorry ass.. All these irresponsible broke single guys that will have a girlfriend and still be sleeping with other girls. Totally immature..

The problem now is that my ex married guy wants to marry me and i have agreed.. The wife is making life hell for him but he is a good man and the only guy that understands me. I am not sure i will meet another person like him. I love his two cuties and am sure i will be a good wife but this wicked woman doesn’t want to give him a divorce, i don’t know what to do??

They have separated now. He said he no longer wants the marriage and his family knows but the wife is still claiming that she loves him. Judging from what I heard from him, he has never been happy in his marriage and i’m willing to make him happy. No insult please.”

Hmmm…This one left us speechless. What do you think?

Ogun Police Arrests Man for Naming and Inscribing “Buhari” on his Dog

The Police in Ogun state has arrested a 30-year-old trader, Joe Fortmose Chinakwe, for naming his dog “Buhari”.
Vanguard reports that a neighbour lodged a complaint at the Sango Police State that Chinakwe named the dog after his (neighbour’s) father, Alhaji Buhari.
The report stated that Chinakwe, who lives at No. 10 Omikunle Street, Sango-Ota, was arrested last Saturday after the complaint. The report added that efforts to secure bail for the suspect were abortive.
A relation to the suspect who identified himself as Chiedozie told Vanguard that the case has been transferred from Sango Police Station to the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters at Eleweran.
Chiedozie said that his brother was being persecuted for no just cause, adding that he is afraid he may be poisoned in the cell or be thrown into prison.
“Chinakwe is a lover of dogs and he names them after things that tickle him. He bought this dog a year ago and named it Buhari.
Unfortunately, some Northerners, who dominate the vicinity where he resides misconstrued his intention and connived to take him up.
The complainant then claimed it was derogatory because his father answers Buhari,” Chiedozie said.
Vanguard reports that the suspect, had allegedly directed his friends to kill the dog, so as to avoid being implicated.
Confirming the arrest, the Ogun State acting Police PRO, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said:
I have made enquiries. The man bought a dog and inscribed Buhari on both sides of its body. One Mallam lodged a complaint and when our men got there, we found out that it was true. You know such thing can cause serious breach of the peace and ethnic or religious unrest. We are charging him to court for conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.
He was arrested last Saturday and we are taking him to court later today (Tuesday) or tomorrow morning (Wednesday). You know an average Northerner will feel bad over such a thing. It can cause serious ethnic crisis or religious confrontation because when you are relegating such a name to a certain person, you are indirectly insulting him.
Oyeyemi said that Chinakwe will be used as evidence in court because he did not deny inscribing “Buhari” on both sides of his dog.

Husband Demands for Compensation for Wasted Years in Marriage

A 36-year-old husband, Edaih, has demanded compensation for the number of years he wasted in the name of marriage to his wife, Uche.
Edaih made this know when he testified in a divorce petition by his wife at a Grade 1 Area Court, Aso Pada, Mararaba, Nasarawa State, on Wednesday.
He claimed that he only slept with his wife in the first two months since they got married, adding that he had no problem with the court granting his wife’s request.
“But I demanded compensation for wasting my years with her in the name of marriage. Since 2013, we got married, I only slept with her the first two months into our marriage and after then, she never allowed me to touch her, nor will she let me sleep with her,” he said.
He tendered what he spent on her head at the traditional wedding and begged the court to ask her to refund all.
The respondent said that he did not enjoy the marriage as he should, while denying the allegation of being cruel.
He told the court that his wife was rather the one sleeping around with other men.
The petitioner, Uche, had begged the court to dissolve her marriage to her husband, for alleged irresponsible behaviour.
Uche alleged that they separated about three years ago because of Emma’s irresponsible behaviour, adding the union produced no child.
“As a result of the cruelty and intolerable attitude of my husband, the marriage had since broken down irretrievably. I am no longer interested in the union with him and I urge this court to dissolve the union,” she pleaded.
The presiding judge, Albert Maga adjourned the case to September 2 for further hearing.

I WILL NEVA BE LIKE MY MUM TO PLEASE ANYBODY, " WHEN I AM NOT MAD" – Bishop Oyedepo’s Daughter

The last child of the founder of Winners General Overseer, Bishop David Oyedepo, has stirred up controversies on social media after she posted a photo of herself which she tagged ‘crazy’.

In a social media post tagged ‘CRAZY’, Joyce Oyedepo, the last child of Bishop David Oyedepo, the General Overseer of Winners Chapel, has stirred up controversies and media reactions.

According to DailyPost, Joyce took to her Facebook page on Sunday, saying she tried as much as possible to be who she really is and the that post had since trailed mixed reactions on social media.

Below is what she wrote:-

“Those who know me know that I’m crazy. I don’t blend in. I’m the one who’s ‘yingin’ when everyone else is ‘yangin’. I’ve been called an outcast by many outsiders. But the more I tried to fit in, the more I stood out. My differences wouldn’t let me stay the same.

“Every day, I’ve come to let the differences that make me, shine through. Tired of the need to stay the same, I’ve come to accept the real me.

“I’m not the same. And as long as I stay rare, there’d always be a need for all of me. For there would always be room for rarity. I have decided not to let the miracle of my birth be the sole miracle of my existence. The proof, is in my crazy.

“I’ve received way too many personal messages about this post below and so for the honest few, I have chosen to make a few things clear. It seems that many of us have misunderstood things too easily.

“You all have seen my posts for a while now, some of you have seen them for years on end, and you know that I absolutely adore my family. That cannot, has not, and will not ever change. Anyone who tries to insinuate any different is purely looking for loopholes that just don’t exist.

“To that group, you may need to find more profitable work because that, already is a failed venture. Then, there is this other group that expects me to be EXACTLY like my mother or sister, who are role models to many including myself, especially myself.

“Thing is, you also may need to edit your expectation because that too, will not be happening. I’m me and will never be anyone else. I can never be anyone else and will not even try to.

“I love that my sister and I are not walking replicas of my mother. She teaches us not to be. She teaches that we are who God has called us to be, and that, with all sincerity. Our differences make us unique, and that makes us an epic loving family. That, we are grateful to God for.

    “Ps, “crazy” purely means/meant different.

“This, you would understand if you read through the post honestly, completely and some of us, without negative intent. So, to those who honestly were confused on the original post, I hope you have received the needed clarity, but to those still looking for loopholes, sorry, failed venture.

“Be you. Be who God created you to be. Yes, have role models (& you always can start with my mother and sister–right here on Facebook even if you have nowhere else to turn).

“But don’t ever try to dim your uniqueness to fit in with the “world’s” definition of perfect. God bless y’all,” she added.

crazy things nigerians say that are completly incorrect

Nigerians can be so funny most times….. I bet none of you ever thought this words ain’t in the dictionary.
Well, You read it on Naijaloaded, Do Your Findings.. You can’t find any of them in the dictionary except the one written by a Nigerian

1. Installmentally
This doesn’t exist anywhere else except only in Nigeria. If you doubt this, just search “Installmentally” on google and watch only Nigerian sites pop up.

2. Night-Vigil
This is another one I don’t understand. Does anyone ever hold a vigil during the day?

3. Cunny
This is not meant as a euphemism for the female body part. When Nigerians say this word, they mean “cunning”. How is that for a giant leap forward?

4. Disvirgin
How hard is it to say deflowered? It must be extremely difficult because even health professionals and newsmen use this absurd word that doesn’t exist.

5. Wake Keeping (Wake keep)
Nigerians have not only made the old European custom of watching over a corpse till it’s buried (called a wake) theirs, they have actually renamed it. Please, there is no such phrase as “wake keep” or even “wake keeping”.

pls lets hear more of them form you through your comments

The New York Post releases another racy photo of Melania Trump

The New York Post has published another old nude photo of Melania Trump, taken three years before she met her husband, the Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump.

The lesbian-themed pics are from a two-day photo shoot in Manhattan in 1995, when Melania Knauss, as she was called, was 25 years old and modeling under the name “Melania K.” Several were featured in Max Magazine.

The raciest of the photos shows Melania lying nude in a bed as Scandinavian model Emma Eriksson, also naked, embraces her from behind, just below her breasts, which are fully exposed.

In another photo, Eriksson wears sheer stockings, a low-cut bustier, high heels and a long robe — all designed by John Galliano — and raises a whip as if preparing to spank Melania, who pretends to recoil. Melania is more conservatively dressed in a skin-tight gown and high heels.
"I always loved women together, because I have been with a lot of women who desired the ménage à trois,”

said Jarl Ale de Basseville, the French fashion photographer who snapped the pictures.
"This is beauty and not porn. I am always shocked by the porn industry because they are destroying the emotion and the essence of purity and simplicity."  The shoot took place in a Chelsea apartment that doubled as a photo studio,

said de Basseville, a Paris artist and fashion photographer who was briefly based in New York in the mid-’90s.

BREAKING!!! Pandemonium In Kano As Police Shot Dead Unarmed Igbo Trader.

Tension is thick in the air in Kano following the gruesome murder of Tochukwu A. Iro, a patent medicine dealer, who was shot by two men
identified as police officers from Kano State Police Command attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS). Igbo youths and traders are protesting the dastardly act. Though the police has called for calm, traders and Igbos in Kano are demanding for justice. Tochukwu (40), married with two children, hailed from Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Those who knew him described him as a peace-loving man. Tochukwu was shot at close-range on Wednesday at 12 noon, but died Thursday afternoon after a failed operation at the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital. His remains have been deposited in the morgue. According to an eyewitness account, “On Wednesday afternoon, at about 12 noon, we saw Tochukwu walking along the road; as he tried to negotiate Illaro Road, two armed policemen walked up to him.
They came with a tinted glass car. They stopped the car close to First Baptist Church, crossed the road and ordered Tochukwu to stop. “When he stopped, there was a mild argument between him and the two armed men; and one of them who was wearing a Kaftan brought a branded police rifle and shot him. When traders around started shouting, the same man shot into the air and bundled the victim into a waiting tricycle, while his second crossed the road, dashed into the car and zoomed off.”

Briefing the Press on Thursday, Chairman of the Igbo Traders Association (ITA), Chief Emmanuel C. Amadi also demanded justice. According to him, “On that Wednesday, I was attending a market board meeting with the General Manager of Abubakar Rimi Market, security chiefs and other stakeholders when I received a call that one of our members was shot by the police along France Road.
“I immediately told the market management and they asked me to get more details over the incident. We made arrangements to ensure that he was taken to hospital for treatment. Around 9pm on that Wednesday, I put a call across to Murtala Muhammad Hospital and I was told that he was responding to treatment.

“On Thursday morning, I called the hospital and was told that he was taken to the theatre for operation; but it was so sad that this afternoon (Thursday), we got the news that he did not survive the gunshot. As I am speaking to you now, Tochukwu is dead.
“I have his file here and I can attest to the fact that he was a peace-loving man. We have never known him as a criminal and that is why we wondered why such an innocent man could be killed in such a gruesome manner. Since the news of his death, we have not rested.
“The youths were here in our office this afternoon (Friday, July 29th) in protest over the killing of their brother. They are demanding for justice. On our own, we have pleaded with them not to take laws into their hands; and all we are saying is that the killers of Tochukwu must be made to face justice,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the Kano State Police Command has reacted to the incident in a statement signed by its spokesman, DSP Magaji Musa Majia. According to the Police statement: “The Kano State Police Command wishes to inform the public that on 27th July, 2016 at about 1200hrs a team of operatives attached to Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), based on tipoff along France Road, stopped one Oguchukwu Augustine ‘m’ of Odutola Street Sabon Gari but he refused to stop.
“He was subsequently pursued and while trying to escape, he was shot at the hipbone and immediately rushed to Murtala Specialist Hospital where he gave up the ghost while receiving treatment.
“The Commissioner of Police Kano State, Alhaji Rabiu Yusuf, has directed the immediate arrest and detention of the team leader and his men for interrogation at the State CIID Kano. “He also summoned the Elders of Igbo Community in Kano where he sympathises with them and assured that Justice will be done.
“The Commissioner of Police also stated that his primary assignment is to protect life and property and will not condone any police personnel who risks the life of innocent citizens. “The outcome of the investigation will be made public as soon as investigation is completed before further action taken.”

PHOTOS: 19yrs Old Girl Having An Affair With President Zuma, Shares Their Loved Up Photos

PHOTOS: 19yrs Old Girl Having An Affair With President Zuma, Shares Their Loved Up Photos

I don't know if I should say this is just one of those things. President Jacob Zuma of  South Africa already has enough wives, so I wonder what this small girl is doing with him.

She said he's a Blesser and that she's in love with him. Abeg I no fit laugh oh! Some women go soon attack President Zuma.

The 19-year-old girl, whose name was given as Lindokuhle Dlamini, shared these pics of herself and the old man, President Zuma, all loved up on social media and wrote:

“He is not just a blesser, we are in love and I am grateful for all that he has done for me, much love. Xo xo.”
People say the word “Blesser” is commonly used, like Sugar Daddy here, to describe an older man who gives a lady money or gifts while having s*x with her.

President Zuma is a polygamist but the South African Presidential spokesperson said they would look into how the pictures leaked. The girl's account has been deleted.
What are they looking into? Did President Zuma deny his 'girl'? Lol!

REVEALED! How Saraki, Ekweremadu Were Caught In The Act

When you hear some senators loyal to Bukola Saraki shouting, it is because they know the heat coming.

An exclusive report by PT indicated that the Federal Government will rely on the testimony of 15 witnesses, among them National Assembly bureaucrats, at the trial of Bukola Saraki, Ike

Ekweremadu and other alleged conspirators over the ongoing case of forgery of Senate rules. Saraki and Ekweremadu, alongside the former Clerk to the National Assembly, Salisu Maikasuwa and his deputy, Benedict Efeturi, are accused of forging the Senate Standing Rules with which the upper chamber’s presiding officers were elected last year.

Prosecution’s case against Saraki and his alleged conspirators According to court documents,
“it is the prosecution’s case against the defendants that sometimes about the 9th day of June, 2015, the defendants conspired among themselves to forge and indeed actually forged the Senate Standing Order 2011 (as amended) and caused the said forged document to be circulated among elected senators for use during the inauguration of the 8thSenate of the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

The document – prosecution’s case summary – was signed by a Principal State Counsel, D.E Kaswe on behalf of the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and is among documents filed before the Abuja High Court. “It is the forged document that was used in the inauguration of the 8th National Assembly which paved the way for the election that ushered in the present leadership of the Senate,” added the document.
Lawyers in the case told PT that the government planned to prove its case by tendering the 2011 and 2015 rules before the court before then proceeding to call 14 witnesses whose statements had been filed. Below are the fourteen witnesses to be called and what they will tell the court:

    1. Suleiman Hukunyi – He is the secretary of the Unity Forum, the Senate caucus consisting of All Progressives Congress lawmakers who opposed the election of Mr. Saraki, preferring Ahmed Lawan instead. Days after the election of Messrs Saraki and Ekweremadu as the Senate presiding officers, he petitioned the Inspector General of Police, demanding criminal investigation into the allegation of forgery of Senate Rules.
The main thrust of the petition which would later land Mr. Saraki and his alleged conspirators in trouble was that the Standing Rules used for 2015 inauguration “purports to allow for secret instead of the open ballot system that has been prevalent in all Senate elections as permitted by the extant rules.” The infraction, he told the Police, arose from the “fraudulent production of rules without an approved consideration by the 7th Senate.” Mr. Hukunyi, according prosecution’s documents, including proof of evidence filed before the court, will testify how the “forged” Rules were distributed to the Senators and also “tender some exhibits.”

    2. Ita Enang – Now presidential senior assistant on Senate matters, he was in the 7thSenate, representing Akwa Ibom North, and serving as the Chairman of the Rules and Business. In January, he was accused of complicity in the “missing” 2016 budget during the budget impasse. Specifically, he was accused of “doctoring” the budget proposal which had earlier been presented by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Contacted in the wake of the allegation by PREMIUM TIMES, he said he was between “my two bosses,” preferring not to refute or admit the charge. In the forgery suit brought against the Senate leaders, he “will tell the court the position of the Senate Standing Order 2011 vis a vis purported Standing Order 2015.” Further, the Federal Government will rely on him to testify that the “proposal for the amendment of the 2011 Senate Standing Order was neither considered nor adopted.”

    3. Solomon Ewuga – He was a member of the 7th Senate. He did not return to the 8th Senate, having pursued a failed governorship ambition in Nasarawa State. He is expected to “tell the court what he knows of the Senate Standing Order 2011” and “shall testify that the 7th Senate did not amend the 2011 Senate Standing Order.

    4. Ogozy Nma – A National Assembly bureaucrat who is the Secretary Committee on Rules and Business. The Rules and Business Committee is regarded as the “life wire” of the legislature as it is responsible for scheduling of legislative businesses, including amendment of rules.
By virtue of Mr. Nma’s schedules, the Federal Government wants him to tell the court “what he knows of the forged Senate Standing Order.” He might be required to tender some exhibits in court.

    5. Daniel Adem – He is the Secretary of the Directorate of Legal Services of the National Assembly. He will also tell the court what he knows of the Senate Standing Order.

    6. Dan’Azumi Doma – He led the investigation of the alleged conspiracy and forgery as the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of CIID. He will tell the court how the case was investigated and the outcome of the investigation. In his report, he had said the Senate Rules were actually altered with valid procedures stipulated by the extant rules that are the 2011 Rules. He will most likely tender the police investigative report before the court.

    7. Ahmed Lawan – He was supported by the APC leadership to contest the Senate leadership position against Mr. Saraki. He was defeated. And Mr. Saraki refused to appoint him Senate Leader as demanded by the leadership of the ruling APC. In his statement to the police, he said,
“The procedures for election into the two presiding offices are clearly stipulated in Order 2 (2(i) of the Senate Standing Rules 2011. That contrary to the provision of the above order, the Clerk to the National Assembly introduced and used order 3(3) e (ii) of the purported 2015 Standing Order”.
He will therefore inform the court “that the Senate Standing Order 2011 was never amended”.

    8. Abdullahi Gumel – A serving Senator who supported Mr. Lawan’s ambition as member of the Unity Forum, will inform the court that he was given the 2011 Rules during the induction course of the 8th Assembly, yet a “forged” 2015 Rules was used for the inauguration of the 8thAssembly days after the induction course.

    9. Kabiru Marafa – The Zamfara Central Senator is Mr. Saraki’s most outspoken and harshest critic in the Senate. On different occasions, he asked Mr. Saraki to resign to

I had seen couple of people come up online to complain about unemployment. I took it so easily not until I graduated and finished my NYSC that I began feeling the heat of unemployment and job hunting fire. Being a serious unemployed in Nigeria Is frustrating and intimidating.
My first ever job I applied for my NYSC, after the application, with even my 2.1 grade I wasn’t even invited for any form of test or interview. Na so I begin apply oo and yet nothing positive showed forth. One that pained me was the one I and 4 of my friends applied for. four of my friends were called and I was left behind. That one pain me sote I began crying. I felt intimidated, that I wasn’t good enough. I felt dejected and down casted. I felt I wasn’t up to my peers standard. All that made me strong.

Late 2015, November precisely I applied for a job in Abuja in an Auditing firm. A friend of mine sent me the link to apply. After applying, I was waiting for a feedback till the end of December. Yet no call or email, or even flash came from them. Na so I just forget about them, filling 2015 has gone with it.

On the 5th of January 2016 I visited my friend of mine in Wuse. When I got there he was having a mini indoor party with his wife to be. They were playing “Efejoku” by Lil kesh. They were feeling the song. Immediately my phone rang. I checked the number calling and it wasn’t a number saved on my phone. I went to a corner that I could be able to speak audibly with the caller. I picked the call and it was a female voice. She said her name was Mabel and she was calling from the auditing firm I applied for the past year. Immediately I heard that, I immediately composed myself. But I was shocked the questions she started asking me.
At first I thought it was a joke or compliment but later, no be complement oo.
Below was how our conversation went:-
  • Mabel—- Good afternoon. My name is mabel, I believe am speaking with ********?
  • Me – Good afternoon .Yes you are.
  • Mabel—- Am from ******* Auditing firm. You applied for one of our vacant posts
  • Me ——- Yes I did.
the phone starts ringing
  • Mabel —— Ehmm, what kind of song is that ?
  • Me—- Song! Which song?
  • Mabel—The song at the background. Or are you not the one playing that song
  • Then I realized she was talking about the song “Efejoku” playing at my own end. I never knew she was hearing it because I was not close to the parlour where the song is being played. I was quit far from the speakers. I told her it’s my friend’s place.
  • Mabel —- Why do you people like all these kind of wordly songs?
   (ghaun ghaun!!!...)
Me no know wetin to answer her. I thought she was calling to tell me that I have made it and their company had recruited me. I no come know the one wey she dey talk about song.
  • Me—— *silence**
  • Mabel—- It seems this is the kind of song you like too, you and your friends?
  • Me —- Not at all ma, I …..
She cuts in
  • Mabel — Our company wants responsible and sound people. Not mad men.
  • Me— (I didn’t know what to tell her) Am in my friends place.
  • Mabel — Your friend’s place? You guys stay in a ghetto area because we don’t want employees to bring thugs and ghetto into our company.
  • Me— No ma aaa oooo. Am not in a ghetto.
Before I could finish she has cut the call. I was very pained and angry. My friend asked me to go to their office in Wuse the next day.
The next day I went to their office. I met with one of the staffs who asked me to wait for one Mr. James na so I begin wait till the Mr. James came. I explained what happened the previous day to him. He laughed and asked me to come back the next day. When I came back the next day, the Mr james directed me to one Mrs Dammy. I guessed she was the one that called the other day. But it was unfortunate that the Mrs Dammy was not around. I was asked to wait. Na so I wait reach 4pm, work close.
I came back the next day, security no come allow me enter. Few days ago I got a text from an unknown number which I believe it’s from the firm. The text read. “Sorry we can’t employ you. We don’t employ thugs in ******* firm.” The thing pain me again.
That was how I lost this job.
